Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation executes Iftar project in Yemen

Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation started to carry out the Iftar project in the Republic of Yemen, with the follow-up and under the supervision of the UAE Embassy in Sana’a, as an annual habit of the Foundation to meet and provide the needs of some poor families in Yemen.
This charitable project comes as an accomplishment of Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation's mission to improve the lives of those who suffer from difficult circumstances and to provide some of their needs during the holy month of Ramadan.

The project includes five items of assorted foodstuffs, some of which were distributed directly to the poor families and others in coordination with a number of Yemeni charity organizations to distribute them to the poor and needy families and deliver them to their homes in the far reaches of the Yemeni governorates.

The number of beneficiary households in the Republic of Yemen from the Iftar project this year, is estimated at more than 1500 families who were given an amount of dry foodstuffs in addition to the other food items in order to fulfill their needs throughout the holy month of Ramadan.

Ali Abdul Rahman al-Akwa, Executive Director of Al Saleh Social Foundation for Development in the Republic of Yemen, commended the Ramadan charitable project implemented by Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation which will cater for the needs of many poor families during the holy month, noting that it comes within the framework of continued support by the UAE to Yemen, especially in the field of philanthropy.

For her part, Fatima Al Akel, Chairperson of Al Aman Society for the Blind and "Take My Hand" Charity Development Society for the disabled in the Republic of Yemen, said that Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation has a long record of charitable activities, especially in Yemen, pointing out that the Iftar project, carried out by the Foundation during the holy month, covered the disabled in various regions of Yemen through the provision of breakfast meals for a number of the disabled centers and distribution of foodstuffs to the disabled in their homes.

Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Al Kabab, President of the Yemeni Red Crescent Society, lauded Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation activities in Yemen and the Iftar project, which covered, this year, more than one governorate and spread to the poor in the far reaches of Yemen, stressing the strong and distinct Yemen – UAE relations, especially in the field of charity and the noteworthy and praiseworthy role played by Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation and the other UAE charitable and humanitarian associations in Yemen.

The role played by Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, especially in the holy month of Ramadan, is considered an example for the outstanding charitable work in the Republic of Yemen, he added.

It's worth mentioning that Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation activities have made a qualitative leap in its humanitarian and development work over the past years, after covering more than 40 countries in addition to broad segments of the poor and the needy in the brotherly and friendly countries.

Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation had implemented the Iftar project in the Kharaz Camp for Somali refugees in Yemen and through the High Commissioner for Refugees.

The High Commissioner for Refugees in Yemen lauded the UAE humanitarian attitudes and the role played by the charitable and humanitarian associations, especially Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation in this respect and the support and aids they offer to refugees around the world.

For his part, the ambassador of Somalia to Yemen, paid tribute to Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation and the Iftar project it carries out in the Kharaz Camp for Somali refugees and appraised the UAE attitudes in all fields, especially in the field of charitable and humanitarian work, saying that this is highly appreciated by the Somali government and people.
