Under Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation initiatives: The state embassies in Pakistan, Turkey, Senegal, Tanzania, Spain and Switzerland continue to oversee the implementation of Ramadan aids and Iftar programs
Within the framework of Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation initiatives in the holy month of Ramadan, the UAE State embassies in Pakistan, Turkey, Senegal, Tanzania, Spain and Switzerland started to execute the Iftar project sponsored by the Foundation as per the directives of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, may God save and help him.
In Pakistan, Ramadan tent gathered students from the International Islamic University coming from 40 countries in Islamabad, and served full meals to 1,500 students. A number of faculty members participated in the charity banquets.
Dr. Abdullah Rizk, Professor of Sharia and Law delivered the University speech during which he prayed for the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
He expressed thanks and appreciation to the UAE leadership and people for their white hands and generosity in the holy month of Ramadan, and the immediate humanitarian aids to the victims of floods.
The UAE embassy in Pakistan also continued carrying out Iftar programs sponsored by Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation which organized collective Iftar banquets in the orphanage compound for girls and the Women Protection Centre of the Pakistani Ministry of Social Affairs in the city of Rawalpindi.
A tent was set up in the courtyard of the compound where full meals were served to 200 orphan girls and a number of women of the women protection house.
The compound Director, Ms. Talaat Shabir, expressed her thanks and gratitude to the leadership of the UAE for its humanitarian attitudes and continued support to the Pakistani people, noting that the UAE is the first country to establish charitable and social programs in Pakistan to help the needy, the eligible and those with special needs, orphans and victims of natural disasters in Pakistan.
On the other hand, the UAE Embassy in Madrid distributed cash amounts and a quantity of dates among all mosques in the Spanish capital and its suburbs.
This comes within the framework of the charity banquets held by the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation for the Muslims living in the Kingdom of Spain.
The beneficiaries expressed their thanks and gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, may God save and bless him, for the assistance he extends to all segments in the world, calling on Allah the Almighty to prolong his age and make this work in the balance of his good deeds, and grant rest in peace to the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may Allah have mercy on him who laid the foundations of philanthropy in the United Arab Emirates.
The state embassy in Senegal supervised the distribution of 2,960 of diverse food baskets to the needy in the suburb of Dakar, on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan provided by Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation.
The number of beneficiaries of such food aids was estimated at about 30,000 people in the two municipalities of Beijing and Gejawai, the prison, the city of Tuba, Louga and some social groups in the rural areas. This charitable work comes from charitable institutions in the UAE in support of the poor Muslims during the holy month of Ramadan and to alleviate the burdens of living for them.
This humanitarian gesture received approval and thanks from the Senegalese officials and gratitude of the beneficiary community segments, and they expressed their thanks and appreciation for the aids provided for them while the local media had pointed out that such aids are the first of its kind to be distributed in Senegal during the holy month of Ramadan.
In the same context, Khalid Khalifa Al Mualla, UAE Ambassador to Turkey, discussed, in the presence of Yusuf Gharib Al Mahmoud, Head of Political and Economic Affairs at the embassy and supervisor of the aid program, with the head of relief and human rights and Deans Fanar "sea lighthouse" Charity in Ankara ways to distribute the aids provided by Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation.
The ambassador stressed the importance of such aids provided by the State through the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, and that they are just a small part of the attention paid by the state to the Muslims all over the world for tens of years, especially in the month of Ramadan. The heads of associations exchanged ideas and suggestions with the Ambassador that help such aids to reach the eligible of the needy, the sick and the poor. The proposals were focused on increasing aids of dates and Iftar for a longer period and delivery of Iftar to the homes of the needy groups of the infirm and the sick, especially in cold climates which render movement difficult. The embassy staff members visited the hall where Iftar will be held and supervised the process of supplying the place with equipment.
It's noteworthy that the UAE Embassy in Ankara oversees the distribution of Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation aids in Istanbul and Ankara, the establishment of two Ramadan Iftar banquets in both cities, and the distribution of about 14 tons of dates.
The embassy tried this year to deliver aids in a new way with the participation of a number of charitable societies to ensure that such aids reach the largest number of the needy.
The members of these societies expressed their profound thanks to the UAE for such aids and to His Excellency the Ambassador and embassy staff members for their efforts which helped in the delivery of aids to the eligible.
Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, in cooperation with the State Embassy in Tanzania, organized the "Iftar project” in all the regions of Tanzania,, and in the Republic of Seychelles, where the aids were distributed to the needy of the poor, orphans, mosques and Islamic institutions, within the framework of the of the philanthropic efforts made by the Foundation on an annual basis in both countries.
The UAE permanent delegation to the European headquarters of the United Nations in Geneva supervised the implementation of the dates distribution project funded by Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation in a number of Swiss cities including Geneva, Zurich, Lausanne, Neuchatel, the statement of the Chodvon, as well as the diplomatic missions of the Arab and Muslim countries in Geneva.
The Ambassador Obeid Salem Al Zaabi, Permanent Representative of the UAE State to the European headquarters of the United Nations in Geneva expressed his pride in this noble deed, pointing out that the state leadership always extends its white hands to all parts of the world by giving and donation. For their part, those in charge of these centers praised the continuing efforts of the Foundation in the service of the Muslim community in the world in general and in Switzerland in particular, and which confirms the bright image enjoyed by the UAE in the field of humanitarian work.
