Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation continues for the third consecutive year the distribution of "Mir Ramadan" on the eligible of the weak and needy families in the form of coupons issued by co-ops all over of the UAE State.. where the number of families benefiting from this great humanitarian project when completed 44,900 poor and needy families.
The Foundation, in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Affairs, identified 24 distribution centers throughout the country in order to ensure the access of beneficiaries to these centers readily and easily with the provision of delivery service, "Mir Ramadan" to the eligible for the second year in a row, and this service was highly applauded by the beneficiaries.
Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation had launched the "Mir Ramadan" for 2010 through a press conference held at the beginning of July, in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Affairs, during which the lists of eligible were approved.
"Mir Ramadan" for this year includes /11/ items of food supplies with / 20 / tons of dry foods. There was a change in some items and new ones were added in response to the wishes of the beneficiaries. 2,000 questionnaire forms were distributed to the beneficiaries through the Ministry of Social Affairs, and some of the food supplies were substituted for high quality supplies as per the results of this study.
The project will be completed and food supplies will be received by the beneficiaries in advance of the holy month of Ramadan. The beneficiaries of the project expressed their thanks and gratitude to Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation for this annual project which alleviates their financial burdens.
The "Mir Ramadan" project is one of the seasonal projects which achieved unprecedented success on the domestic scene over the past three years and covered the largest sector of the beneficiaries, with the aim of providing the needs of the local community and to curb the high prices through humanitarian projects in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Affairs and Abu Dhabi Cooperative Society and all the national energies of coordinators and committees supervising the distribution of "Mir Ramadan" through the / 24 / distribution centers at the state level.
Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation lauded cooperation of the Ministry of Social Affairs, all the mass media, co-ops and volunteers supervising the execution of such humanitarian work, which aims to help and support / 300,000 / persons of the needy families in the holy month of Ramadan so as to ensure access of such families to their needs of basic foodstuffs and other necessary items in sufficient quantities throughout the holy month.
The Foundation affirmed that it will spare no effort to provide aids and assistance for the needy within the UAE and abroad; and to support the needy families, widows, orphans, the poor and other eligible low-income people.
The numerous projects and aid programs implemented and supervised by the Foundation at the local arena and in a number of African and Asian Islamic countries contribute to alleviating the suffering of the poor and providing support and assistance for the needy in those countries.
