Implementing of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, may God save and bless him, to dispatch emergency relief aids for those affected by the floods that hit Pakistan and left huge material and human damages, Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan FoundationKBZF started distribution of emergency relief items among those affected. Priority was given to the most affected areas in Swat, Peshawar, Noshehra, Rajinbour Rogan and DJ Khan. It is scheduled to start other distribution processes of foodstuffs in other areas within the coming days.
The emergency relief aids provided by the Foundation included 6,000 shelter tents;130 bags of flour; 3,000 bags of lentil as well as 15,000 food parcels containing "flour, lentil, oil, sugar," and large quantities of different medical supplies and drugs.
This humanitarian initiative comes as a commitment of the Foundation to play its humanitarian role at the world arena through the emergency relief aids to mitigate the impact of the disaster on the affected people in Pakistan in these difficult tragic circumstances.
Flour for 135,000 families
KBZF distributed 130,000 bags of flour of 20 kg each to more than 135,000 families in the areas of Swat, Peshawar, Noshehra, Rajinbour Rogan, DJ Khan, which are the most affected areas by the floods.
Accommodating more than 50,000 refugees
The total number of beneficiaries of the shelter tents distributed by Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation in the flood areas of Pakistan amounts to more than 50,000 refugees with an average of 8 members per tent, since the average number of family members in those areas comes up to 9 persons.
15,000 beneficiary families
The foodstuffs distributed by Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation within food parcels, covering 15,000 families in the flood areas, provide the needs of about 15,0000 families of flour, lentil, oil and sugar for a period of more than one month and meet the requirements of their members whose number exceeds 100,000 people during that period.
