The UAE Embassy in Australia yesterday executed the first phase of Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation for the supervision over the delivery of food parcels containing the most important basic foodstuffs consumed during the holy month of Ramadan to the Australian Federation of Islamic Councils in Melbourne, the capital of Victoria, which undertakes their distribution to the eligible categories.
Hamad Hareb Al Hebsy, Chargé d’affairs of the UAE Embassy in Australia, who attended the delivery of food parcels, extended congratulations on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan to the president and vice-president of the Australian Federation, the president of the Islamic Council in Victoria and representatives of charities and humanitarian organizations.
Al Hebsy expressed his gratitude for the Australian Federation of Islamic Council's constructive cooperation for the success of charitable and humanitarian programs, pointing out that the Foundation was established with a vision based on launching leading initiatives to serve humanity locally, regionally and globally; and to achieve that, the Foundation had entered into partnerships with global organizations affiliated with the United Nations and public welfare organizations.
Al Hebsy affirmed that the UAE; through its institutions, charitable and humanitarian associations, regards the Iftar program, which is one of its numerous programs, as a window of giving and good through which it can send a true message of love and sincere invitation to establish cooperation relationships with all the peoples of the world in order to attain to a world of peace, solidarity, tolerance and mutual respect.
For his part, Iqbal Battal, President of the Australian Federation of Islamic Councils, lauded honorable initiative carried out by Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation in Australia over four consecutive years, appraising its human meanings and the sincerity of the noble mission which it sends to all the peoples of the world through the Iftar program which translates and instills the authentic values and tolerance of Islam.
Battal emphasized that this program is remarkably approved by the charitable and humanitarian organizations and associations in Australia, extending all thanks and appreciation to Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation and all its officers and staff and wishing the UAE perpetuity of progress and prosperity.
In the same context, Mr. Ramsey Al Sayed, Chairman of the Islamic Council in the state of Victoria, paid tribute to the humanitarian role played by the Foundation, saying that its charitable and humanitarian activities deserve all praise and respect, stressing the importance of this program and the smile it plants on the faces of its beneficiaries.
Moreover, the UAE Embassy in Bangladesh, in collaboration with a number of charity organizations, distribute the dates provided by Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation on the advent of the holy month of Ramadan among orphanages and the poor and needy houses.
The embassy's preparations are underway for holding the Ramadan Iftar banquets provided by Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation and the UAE Red Crescent Society, under the supervision of Mr. Ghazi Abdullah bin Ashour, Minister Plenipotentiary and Acting Chargé d’affairs of the UAE Embassy in Dhaka.
